What's a Decal Number?

FMHI IT uses a PC's decal number to track hardware for inventory and support services. The pictures below demonstrate the typical location of a decal number. In picture 1, the decal is part of a USF issued sticker that may appear anywhere on the case of the machine. In picture 2, the decal is the full number on a yellow sticker applied by FMHI IT itself. As you can see, the decal number is always 6 digits whether it is part of a longer set of numbers (as in picture 1) or not (as in picture 2).

Picture 1 - The Decal Number is 205910

Picture 2 - The Decal Number is 700614

Fun Facts About Your Decal Number

  • The decal number is associated with your PC's individual serial number

  • If your PC was less than $1,000 it gets a yellow sticker one; if more, a USF one

  • During every service request, we ask for your decal number
